A visit to the National Gallery

Is there anyone like me who doesn’t understand too much about art? It’s like you appreciate it when you see it but don’t exactly know what, why, when, how?
Modern art is so different from vintage. It’s so difficult to even pick which one I appreciate more.
College decided to take us for a field trip to the national art gallery to observe and appreciate the art of Monet. All of us turned up for it. I remember entering the gallery all excited, reading the descriptions of all the pictures I liked. It felt obnoxious how I didn’t like going to galleries and exhibitions when there are such pretty and meaningful things put up to grab the attention of people who are oblivious to art (like me). Not just art but I also remember a few other activities I took part in which comprised drawing over a stencil, a 3D view of the art I liked.
War, family, beauty, nature, everything was depicted so well from what I saw. I’m no expert so I can’t provide intricate details about the ones that caught my attention because there’s only so much I grasped from each of it but it was quite an experience, overall. When I realised I liked what I saw when was I stood in front of this one portrait for a good 9 minutes and didn’t move. I couldn’t stop thinking about how they created such beauty back then. It did impact my view on art and how natural the artist made it seem. A few had such in-depth meaning to them.
Since I don’t visit galleries too much or at all for that matter, out off all the times I’ve been dragged to, Monet is the one artist I definitely will remember.
