Travel to broaden the mind. Even if it is to a country that’s a hop, skip and a jump away from the currently you currently live in it can be an entirely different experience. Singapore is so fast moving. There isn’t the time to really stop and slow down. But when the opportunity presents itself then you grab it. My friend and another couple who were our friends got on a ferry to Bintan and we got to the country. Now we had been to Batam before, also a part of Indonesia. But it’s amazing how you can have an entirely different experience in the same country. When we reached our villa the surrounds were amazing, as in there was barely anything surrounding us, just a large hotel close by to our villa and a boutique in the vicinity. From being surrounded by nothing but buildings to being surrounded by virtually nothing is best described by being an unusual serenity. We checked into our villas and we were just amazed at how secluded we felt.

We each had a private pool and the sunlight that was supposed to be hitting the pool was masked by the palm trees which caused a few beams of light to touch the water. The experience was one like no other. As comfortable as our stay was we still didn’t want to be confined within four walls so we decided to explore our surroundings. The quietness was eerie when there was an wind to blow by it was almost as if you could hear the individual sound of wind being passed through each leaf, we decided to surprise one of our friends with a special birthday dinner at the rooftop restaurant in the hotel nearby and the next day we checked out the boutique nearby. It was all in all a trip where relaxation and bonding was the main focus and those goals were achieved and who could not love waking up to the sounds of birds chirping right?
