Dries, baron Van Noten from Antwerp is a Belgian fashion designer and an eponymous fashion brand. His style is said to be "eccentric", and fell out of favor during the long period of minimalistic fashion in the early 1990s, only to make a comeback towards the mid-2000s, culminating with Van Noten's winning of the International Award of the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 2008.

Dries, the documentary, was a field trip our professor wanted to take us for. It was at capitol theatre and we were asked to book tickets way in advance for the movie. It was a great experience as everyone went for it and just before the movie our professor asked us to come a bit early for a drink, to set the mood right. It was great bonding with her and mingling with her outside college. Its a great feeling bonding with our lecturers on a personal level because I think they get to know you a lot better.

The documentary made me learn numerous things and life lessons. life is not easy, not at all and overcoming all the obstacles to become something and achieve success is extremely difficult. well, I have a long way to go but Dries finally made it. He was unrecognised for so many years despite giving his best at his work. He had a supportive partner through out who helped him climb the ladder to triumph. his work is remarkable and left me thinking for a few days. I aspire to be as good and different at my work, just like him.
What would your aspirations be?
